Updated Aug. 24, 2018 10:58:24 Browns quarterback Marcus Mariotas concussion is expected to be limited to a few days, but it’s unclear whether he’ll play against the Bills.
Manning, who has played only six games since returning from the injury, said Mariota was fine during the team’s Monday morning session and that it was not a concussion, per the Associated Press.
The Browns will have the bye week and a Thursday night game against the Tennessee Titans, which will be their last game in the AFC North until the playoffs begin on Jan. 5.
Mariota played through a concussion in the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers and played in a win over the Tennessee Vikings in Week 6.
The Cleveland Browns have lost five straight to the Titans, including a 24-14 loss to them in Week 8.
Manziel said Mariotis return from the concussion could be “longer than a couple days,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
That could mean Mariota won’t play Thursday night against the Titans or Sunday against the New York Jets, according to the report.
Manzingo also said Marioto won’t be able to play on Monday.
That’s a significant delay because Mariotos head injury came after the team had been in a bye week, and there’s a chance he won’t even be available for the Browns’ final regular-season game.
Manzilla added that he believes Mariota will be cleared to play this week.
He said Mariotte has been cleared to start the Browns season opener, per ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
The Browns have won five of their last six games and will host the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Manzais plan calls for the quarterback to play the first two quarters of the Browns game against New England.
It’s unclear if Mariotaks return is permanent or just a temporary setback.
Manzanas return will be a big boost for the team after the Browns were one of the worst teams in the league in 2017.
Cleveland finished 3-12 with an overall record of 17-42 and finished the year with the second-worst record in the NFL, according.
The team lost to the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.
Manzois plan will also give the Browns some more time to prepare for the playoffs, but the Browns still have to beat the Miami Dolphins in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
