A man in a wheelchair who manages to keep his beautiful lawn maintained at an affordable cost is now able to share his story on Facebook.
Mitch Haggart, a resident of Newbury Park, CA, is a father of three with a history of Parkinson’s disease, he said.
When he was a child, his mother would always tell him to do things that were “just right.”
Haggart said he began working on his lawn in the summer of 2016 after his parents decided to move from California to Oregon.
He said he found out about the cost of maintaining the lawn and began researching the process, which involved using a lawnmower to move the grass from one spot to another.
Haggarst said the cost to maintain his beautiful grass was between $20 and $40.
However, when he started looking into the costs of the lawn maintenance, he was amazed at how much more expensive it was to maintain.
“It’s pretty much a 100 percent cost to own and maintain, and it’s not worth $400 a year to rent a mower,” he said in a video posted to Facebook.
“The cost of mowing a lawn in Oregon is $30 a month,” he added.
“To maintain a lawn that you could have bought for $20 a month, you could pay about $1,000 to rent the lawn mower.
I don’t know how much that would cost you.
It’s like a million dollars.
You would just be able to do it yourself.”
Hattie, Haggarts daughter, is also a mom of three and lives in California.
Haggarty has a degree in mechanical engineering and hopes to go into business in the medical field.
He hopes his video will help people who are considering buying a lawn mowing machine, which costs between $150 and $300.
“I hope that it’s something that I can help people with,” he told the station.
“I’m not really a lawn care professional.
I’m just an artist.”
Higgart said that he has no plans to buy a lawn maintenance mower, but he is considering getting one.
